Responsible vaping regulation starts with an auditable standard
Responsible vaping regulation starts with an auditable standard. Alberta should be able to show what retailers must do, how youth access is monitored, and how illegal sellers are investigated.
Four parts of an auditable standard
- Clear retail rules and training.
- Inspection and correction records.
- Online and illicit supply enforcement.
- A public review schedule for Bill 208 outcomes.
Why responsibility should be measurable
Responsibility cannot be only a message. It has to be demonstrated through records that the public can understand. That is how Alberta can protect youth without losing sight of lawful adult access.
A practical path
AGLC-style oversight would give Alberta a familiar model for licensing, training, inspection, sanctions, and review.
