Responsibility standard |
Responsible policy means measurable review
A responsible rule is one the province can explain, enforce, measure, and correct. Bill 208 should be judged against that standard.
The standard we want applied
- Prevention: Does the rule reduce youth access in a measurable way?
- Compliance: Can lawful retailers understand and follow it?
- Enforcement: Does the province have a plan for sellers outside the compliant channel?
- Correction: Will Alberta publish outcomes and adjust if the rule misses its target?
Today's committee opening
The review process gives MLAs a chance to request technical evidence and stakeholder input. The coalition will support a record that measures responsibility instead of merely declaring it.
