Responsibility Means Asking for Inspection
Responsible retailers should not be afraid of inspection. They should be asking Alberta to inspect the right channels and publish the results.

- Use Bill 208 amendments to measure outcomes before restrictions expand.
A responsible position
Alberta's current framework already includes age restrictions, ID requirements, display limits, advertising restrictions, prohibited sales locations, and enforcement powers. A responsible vaping sector should be prepared to meet those standards.
At the same time, responsibility requires government to distinguish compliant sellers from illegal supply. A restriction that punishes the visible channel while illegal sellers remain untouched is not responsible. It is incomplete.
The practical path
Strengthen the inspected market. Report the results. Penalize failures. Then act against sellers outside the system. That is a stronger youth-protection model than narrowing legal adult access and hoping the unregulated market does not grow.
