Compliance Data Should Be Ready Before the Calendar Moves

Responsible Vaping Coalition says Alberta does not need to wait for a new meeting date to assemble useful enforcement data.

The categories are already public

Alberta says the Tobacco and Vaping Enforcement Team inspects retailers, educates retailers, coordinates with enforcement agencies, and responds to public complaints, according to the provincial rules page. Those categories can become a public dashboard before Bill 208 returns.

Each field helps identify whether Alberta has a legal-retail problem, an illegal-supply problem, or both.

Why now

the September 24 transcript records that the committee deferred Bill 208. A deferral should not be empty time. It should be preparation time.
